David Dastmalchian stars as Kurt, a member of Lang’s X-Con Security crew, and Randall Park plays Jimmy Woo, an FBI agent who was previously Lang’s parole officer.

Gregg Turkington reprises his role as Dale, the manager of a Baskin-Robbins store who Lang worked for, while Bill Murray is cast as an undisclosed villain who has a history with Janet van Dyne in the Quantum Realm. Ruben Rabasa appears as a coffee shop attendant, and William Jackson Harper and Katy O’Brian are cast in undisclosed roles. M.O.D.O.K., a mutated, cybernetically enhanced individual with an oversized head, is also slated to appear in the film.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was first confirmed in November 2019, with director Peyton Reed and star Paul Rudd returning. Writer Jeff Loveness was hired in April 2020, and the development of the film began during the COVID-19 pandemic .

The film’s title and new cast members were announced in December 2020. Principal photography began on July 26, 2021, at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, using the working title Dust Bunny.

Industrial Light & Magic provided the same StageCraft virtual production technology used for The Mandalorian. Will Htay served as production designer.

In September, over 50 crew members from Pinewood Studios productions, including Quantumania, contracted norovirus following an outbreak at the studio, though the main cast was not affected. In October, the film’s release was delayed to July 28, 2023.

Bill Murray revealed he had shot material for a Marvel film with director Peyton Reed, believed to be Quantumania, and later indicated he was playing a “bad guy” in the film. Principal photography was completed in November 2021, with filming also expected to take place in Atlanta and the production slated to move to San Francisco in 2022 with the cast.

Adam Gerstel and Laura Jennings have been hired as editors for the film. In 2022, the release date for the film was pushed back to February 2023, and it was announced that Randall Park would reprise his role as Jimmy Woo.

Feige stated that the film would have a significant impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe and would be closely tied to the upcoming Phase Five and “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” films.

Jonathan Majors will also reprise his role as Kang in “The Kang Dynasty”. Director Peyton Reed hopes that the film will not be seen as a filler between “Avengers” films, but rather a standalone epic on par with those films.

In July 2022, Christophe Beck was announced as the composer for the film, having previously worked on the first two Ant-Man movies and the MCU Disney+ series WandaVision and Hawkeye.

The movie “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” was previewed at the San Diego Comic-Con and D23 events in 2022, and an official trailer was released on October 24th of that year.
